Ingredients

Explanation

Zhu Ye: Clearing away heat and relieving restlessness.

Cheng Liu: Dispelling wind, inducing diaphoresis and promoting eruption of measles.

Ge Gen: Removing pathogenic heat from the exterior, ascending the Qi of the spleen and stomach.

Niu Bang Zi: Dispersing wind-heat in the head.

Zhi Mu: Clearing heat, tonifying yin and moistening dryness.

Bo He and Jing Jie: Relieving exterior syndrome by means of diaphoresis.

Zhi Mu, Mai Dong and Xuan Shen: Purging fire to remove toxins, nourishing Yin and clearing away heat.

Zhi Gan Cao: Clearing heat and removing toxicity, tempering the actions of all the other ingredients.

Effect

Promote eruption of measles, relieve exterior syndrome, clear heat and promote the secretion of saliva or body fluid.

Indications

Sore throat, cough with asthma, dysphoria, inadequate eruption of the early stage of measles, dry, thin and yellow coating on the tongue, dry mouth, rapid and floating pulse.

Administration

Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
