Ingredients

Explanation

Qing Dai and Zhi Zi: The principal drugs, purging fire in the liver and clearing away heat from blood.

Gua Lou Ren and Hai Shi: Removing heat and fire pathogens, moistening dryness and resolving phlegm.

He Zi: Astringing the lung-Qi to relieve cough.

Effect

Eliminating fire pathogen, resolving phlegm, astringing the lung-Qi and relieving cough.

Indications

Syndrome due to attack of the lung by the liver-fire, marked by cough, thick sputum with blood streak, difficulty in expectoration, or dysphoria, irritability, prickle pain in the chest and hypochondrium, reddened cheeks, constipation, reddish tongue with yellowish coating, and taut rapid pulse; including such diseases with the above symptoms as bronchiectasis and pulmonary tuberculosis with the symptom of hemoptysis.

Administration

Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
