Property

Bitter, cold, slightly toxic; lung, spleen and kidney meridians entered.

Actions

Counteract toxic pathogen, drive out accumulated water, resolve swelling and dissipate nodulation.

Indications

Scrofula, sores and boils, difficulty in urination and defecation, subcutaneous nodule, thoracic and abdominal effusion.

Dosage and administration

Decoct 1.5~3 g or take the powder, 0.3~1 g, or made into pill or powder, or soaked in wine. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded for applying or decocted for washing.

Cations

It is contraindicated to the weak and pregnant women.
