Bitter, cold, slightly toxic, liver, heart and large intestine meridians entered.
Actions
Clear heat and relax the bowels, promote diuresis, stop bleeding and kill parasites.
Indications
Tinea, scabies, traumatic injury, jaundice, sores, hematemesis, favus of the scalp, all kind of haemorrhage, hepatitis, functional uterine bleeding, constipation, colitis, stranguria with turbid discharge.
Dosage and administration
Decoct 9~15 g, or pounded into juice or made paste. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded into juice for applying or decocted for washing.
Cations
It is contraindicated for diarrhea with eating less food and deficiency-cold in spleen and stomach.
