Chengshan
Chengshan(BL57,承山) is an acupuncture point in the meridian named Taiyang Bladder Meridian of Foot.
Meaning
Cheng, sustain; shan, mountain. The two bellies of the gastrocnemius muscle are as prominent as a mountain. The point is below them, as though holding up a mountain.
Location
The midpoint of the line drawn from Weizhong to the heel tendon at the same level with the apex of the lateral malleolus.
Indication
- Main point to relieve cramp of the venter of gastrocnemius muscle.
- Constipation, collapse of the internal piles, collapse of anus.
- Pain of the back and the lumbar.
- Sciatic neuralgia, paraplegia, etc.
Method
Puncture perpendicularly or obliquely upward 1-2 cun.
