Ingredients
- Da Huang 15 g,
- Dan Pi 15 g,
- Tao Ren 15 g,
- Chi Shao 12 g,
- Yin Hua 30 g,
- Pu Gong Ying 30 g,
- Chuan Lian Zi 9 g,
- Gan Cao 9 g.
Explanation
Da Huang: One of the principal drugs, removing accumulated heat from the intestines, clearing away heat and toxic material.
Dan Pi: The other principal drug, being bitter and pungent in flavor and cold in nature, clearing away heat in the blood.
Tao Ren: Being drastic in removing blood stasis, helping Mu Dan Pi and Da Huang to promote blood circulation and disperse blood stasis, and inducing bowel movement.
Chi Shao: Activating blood and resolving stasis.
Chuan Lian Zi: Promoting the circulation of qi.
Yin Hua and Pu Gong Ying: Clearing heat and removing toxicity.
Zhi Gan Cao: Invigorating the spleen and stomach, tempering the actions of all the other ingredients.
Effect
Clear heat and remove toxicity, promote the circulation of qi and activate blood, relax the bowels.
Indications
Cramping sensation of the right lower abdomen, constipation, rapid and smooth pulse, red tongue, yellow and greasy coating on the tongue.
Administration
Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
