Ingredients
- Bei Mu (Bulbus Fritillariae) 5 g,
- Gua Lou (Fructus Trichosanthis) 3 g,
- Tian Hua Fen (Radix Trichosanthis) 2.5 g,
- Fu Ling (Poria) 2.5 g,
- Ju Hong (Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae) 2.5 g,
- Jie Geng (Radix Platycodi) 2.5 g.
Explanation
Bei Mu: Clearing away heat, moistening the lung, resolving phlegm, arresting cough.
Gua Lou: Clearing away heat and eliminating phlegm so as to moisten dryness.
Tian Hua Fen: Clearing away heat, resolving phlegm, promoting the production of body fluids, moistening dryness.
Fu Ling: Strengthening the spleen, inducing diuresis.
Ju Hong: Regulating the flow of Qi, resolving phlegm.
Jie Geng: Ventilating the lung, checking upward adverse flow of Qi, eliminating phlegm, relieving cough.
Effect
Moistening the lung, clearing away heat, resolving phlegm, relieving cough.
Indications
Syndrome of retention of phlegm due to dryness in the lung, marked by cough, dyspnea difficulty in coughing up sputum, dry and sore throat, reddened tongue with little dry coating etc.; including such diseases with the above symptoms as chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, pulmonary tuberculosis and pneumosilicosis.
Administration
Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
