Ingredients
- Ban Xia (Rhizoma Pinelliae) 60 g,
- Fu Ling (Poria) 30 g,
- Zhi Qiao (Fructus Aurantii Preparata) 15 g,
- Feng Hua Xiao (efflorescenced Natrii Sulfas) 7.5 g.
Explanation
Ban Xia: The principal drug, removing dampness, resolving phlegm.
Fu Ling: Strengthening the spleen and inducing diuresis so as to promote the elimination of phlegm.
Zhi Qiao: Regulating the flow of Qi and relieving depression.
Feng Hua Xiao: Softening masses and causing laxation.
Jiang Zhi (ginger juice): Reducing the toxicity of Ban Xia and resolving phlegm.
Effect
Removing dampness, promoting the circulation of Qi, eliminating phlegm.
Indications
Syndrome due to retention of phlegm-dampness in the interior, marked by soreness of the upper limbs or edema in the 4 limbs, or cough with profuse sputum, fullness in the chest and epigastric region, whitish greasy tongue coating, and taut slippery pulse; including such diseases with the above symptoms as peripheral neuritis, dysthyroidism, chronic bronchitis and pulmonary emphysema.
Administration
The ingredients are ground into fine powder and made with an adequate amount of ginger juice into pills. 6 g of the pills is taken with ginger-infused water or boiled water each time, twice daily.
