Zhaohai(KI6,照海) is an acupuncture point in the meridian named Shaoyin Kidney Meridian of Foot.

Meaning

Zhao, to shine; hai, sea. The point pertains to the Kidney Meridian and the Qi is abundant as the sea. It means that the real Yang of the kidney may illuminate the whole body.

Location

1 cun directly below the tip of the medial malleolus.

Indication

Irregular menstruation, leukorrhea, hysteroptosis, urinary retention, urinary tract infection, epilepsy, pharyngitis, insomnia.

Method

Perpendicularly 0.3-0.5 cun.
