Ingredients
- Di Gu Pi (Cortex Lycii) 12 g,
- Sang Bai Pi (Cortex Mori) 12 g,
- Zhi Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata) 3 g,
- Jing Mi (Semen Oryzae Sativae) 6 g.
Explanation
Sang Bai Pi: The principal drug, being sweet in flavor and cold in nature, removing heat from the lung and clearing away accumulated heat.
Di Gu Pi: Purging fire pathogen hidden in the lung, relieving fever of deficiency type.
Zhi Gan Cao and Jing Mi: Nourishing and regulating the stomach to support the lung-Qi.
Effect
Removing heat from the lung, relieving cough and asthma.
Indications
Syndrome due to accumulated heat resulting from fire pathogen hidden in the lung, marked by cough even leading to asthma, hot and damp skin which is severe at 3-5 o'clock in the afternoon, reddened tongue with yellowish coating, and thready rapid pulse; including such diseases with the above symptoms as acute bronchitis, bronchial asthma, pulmonary emphysema complicated by infection, infantile pneumonia, etc.
Administration
Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice (Taken originally in the form of powder)
