Ingredients

Explanation

Gui Ban: Benefiting the kidney through nourishing Yin to purge fire.

Bai Shao: Astringing Yin and enriching blood to nourish the liver.

Huang Qin and Huang Bai: Clearing away heat and purging fire to arrest bleeding.

Chun Gen Pi: Strengthening the channels to arrest leukorrhagia, eliminating dampness and heat.

Xiang Fu: Regulating the flow of Qi to remove stasis and coordinate blood.

Effect

Nourishing Yin, clearing away pathogenic heat, arresting bleeding, and consolidating the channels.

Indications

Syndrome of pathogenic heat in the interior due to Yin-deficiency, marked by prolonged menstruation, metrorrhagia or metrostaxis, deep-colored blood being mixed with dark purple clots, dysphoria and feverish sensation in the chest and epigastric region, abdominal pain, dark urine, reddened tongue, and taut rapid pulse; including such diseases with the above symptoms as menoxenia and dysfunctional uterine bleeding, etc., all secondary to the inflammation of the reproductive system.

Administration

All the ingredients are ground into powder. The powder is mixed with liquor into pills. 9 g of the pills is taken each time, twice daily. Or, the ingredients are properly reduced according to the original proportions and decocted in water for the decoction to be taken orally.
