Ingredients
- Ge Jie (Gecko) 1 pair,
- Xing Ren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum) 150 g,
- Zhi Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata)150 g,
- Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng) 60 g,
- Fu Ling (Poria) 60 g,
- Bei Mu (Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae) 60 g,
- Sang Bai Pi (Cortex Mori) 60 g,
- Zhi Mu (Rhizoma Anemarrhenae) 60 g.
Explanation
Ge Jie: The principal drug, improving inspiration to relieve asthma by invigorating the kidney-Qi.
Ren Shen: Reinforcing the primordial Qi, benefiting the spleen and lung.
Fu Ling: Strengthening the spleen to remove dampness.
Sang Pi and Xing Ren: Descending the adverse flow of Qi downward to relieve asthma.
Bei Mu: Clearing away heat, moisturizing the lung, resolving phlegm.
Zhi Mu: Clearing away lung-heat, nourishing the kidney, improving inspiration.
Zhi Gan Cao: Invigorating Qi, regulating the stomach, tempering the actions of all the other ingredients.
Effect
Replenishing Qi, clearing away lung-heat, relieving cough and asthma.
Indications
Syndrome due to lung-deficiency and prolonged cough, marked by cough, asthma, thick yellowish sputum, or cough, vomiting of pus and blood, restless and feverish sensation in the chest, emaciation, and floating weak pulse; including such diseases with the above symptoms as tuberculosis and chronic bronchitis.
Administration
The ingredients are ground into powder. 6 g of it is taken on empty stomach with boiled water each time, twice daily, in the morning and evening.
