Ingredients

Explanation

Ban Xia: The principal drug, removing dampness, resolving phlegm, regulating the stomach, relieving vomiting.

Chen Pi: Promoting the circulation of Qi and resolving phlegm.

Fu Ling: Strengthening the spleen, inducing diuresis.

Sheng Jiang: Checking upward adverse flow of Qi, resolving phlegm, assisting Ban Xia and Ju Hong in promoting the circulation of Qi to eliminate phlegm.

Wu Mei: Astringing the lung-Qi so as to make it not be damaged while phlegm is eliminated.

Zhi Gan Cao: Tempering the actions of all the other ingredients.

Effect

Removing dampness, resolving phlegm, promoting the circulation of Qi, regulating the stomach.

Indications

Syndrome due to damp-phlegm, marked by cough with profuse whitish sputum easy to expectorate, fullness in the chest, nausea, vomiting, lassitude, or dizziness, palpitation, whitish greasy tongue coating, and slippery pulse; including such diseases with the above symptoms as chronic bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema, peptic ulcer, Meniere's disease, morning sickness during pregnancy, infantile salivation, etc.

Administration

Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
