Ingredients
Explanation
Huang Bai: Being bitter in flavor and cold in nature, having special potency of clearing away heat.
Cang Zhu: Being bitter in flavor, warm in nature and good at removing dampness.
Effect
Clearing away heat and dampness.
Indications
Syndrome due to damp-heat flowing downward, marked by flaccidity and weakness of the lower limbs, or reddish swollen hot painful feet and knees, or morbid leukorrhea, or skin and external diseases in the lower body due to affection of dampness pathogen, scanty and yellow urine, and yellowish greasy tongue coating; including such diseases with the above symptoms as sequela of poliomyelitis, multiple neuritis, varix of lower limb, Buerger’s disease, ischialgia, and rheumatic arthritis.
Administration
Huang Bai is fried, Cang Zhu is first steeped in rice-washed water and then fried. The above two are decocted in water for the decoction. The decoction is divided into portions and taken. Originally the two ingredients were ground into powder and taken.
