Ingredients
- Bai Jie Zi (Semen Sinapis Albae) 6 g,
- Su Zi (Fructus Perillae) 9 g,
- Bai Fu Zi (Semen Raphani) 9 g.
Explanation
Bai Jie Zi: Warming the lung to regulate the flow of Qi, soothing the chest to resolve phlegm.
Su Zi: Descending the flow of Qi to resolve phlegm, relieving cough and asthma.
Bai Fu Zi: Promoting digestion to remove food stagnancy, activating the circulation of Qi to eliminate phlegm.
Effect
Resolving phlegm, promoting digestion, relieving cough and arresting asthma.
Indications
Cough and asthma due to retention of phlegm and stagnation of Qi, marked by cough and dyspnea with profuse whitish sputum, fullness in the chest, poor appetite, whitish greasy tongue coating, and slippery pulse; including such diseases with the above symptoms as chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, pulmonaryemphysema and pulmonary heart disease.
Administration
All the drugs are pounded into powder. The powder is wrapped in gauze and decocted in water for the decoction. The decoction is taken regularly.
Prolonged use of this prescription is not suggested to the aged and the weak. If it does be needed, drugs for regulating and tonifying the spleen and lung or for strengthening the spleen and reinforcing the kidney should be added.
